HANDLING
SYSTEMS
Plakene® provides exceptionally good results, sophisticated, while in parallel adapting to an enormous range of product needs:quantity, size and thickness.

DIE-CUTS & CREASING

Plakene® can be transformed by using normal machinery for cardboard products.
Plakene® responds flawlessly to die-cutting and creasing that, if done hot, are even more perfect. Furthermore, no counter mould needs to be used, which prevents it from retracting, making movement at a later time possible (opening-closing, folding-unfolding) without tearing.

GUILLOTINING

Plakene® works perfectly with the guillotines that are regularly used in graphic design and cardboard industries.
MELNIK recommends reducing the number of sheets per cut, as greater force must be applied.

BINDING

The majority of the mechanical presses used for cardboard can also be employed with Plakene® for its later perforating, hot and cold creasing, pressing and other operations typical of binding processes.

LEATHER GOODS

Vertical hydraulic presses allow several sheets of Plakene® to be simultaneously die-stamped, in both simple formats and complex shapes. However, this technique does involve a longer period of time to execute.

ASSEMBLY

The reliability that Plakene® offers you via this system is absolute:perfect cuts and folds, with totally precise fits. Furthermore, it is the simplest manipulation technique, thanks to the die stencil.

RIVETING

This is done with the machinery already in place in manipulating industries and workshops and is the most
basic way to add filing devices and accessories. It can
also execute simple and solid binding work.

HOT FOLDING

With this technique, Plakene® can be folded into specific shapes and angles that will remain fixed into the material itself.

WELDING

Plakene® provides incredible versatility, preferably by employing different welding systems:

Ultrasonic: accepted by all gauges.
Hot air: high quality and low cost welding.
Electric: especially for welding fine gauges against
thick ones.

The majority of packaging and file windows are generally executed using this method.

STITCHING

Plakene® can be worked with this simple and economical method, which can be done perfectly on sewing machines used in leather goods. This is particularly recommended for joining Plakene® to other materials (such as textiles), for applications with dressmaking and leather goods.

APPLICATION OF ACCESSORIES

MELNIK provides full functionality with these systems, as well as absolute simplicity. A wide range of accessories can be applied to Plakene® ®: clasps, handles, corner pieces, box files, stands... as well as the materials in which they can be executed: plastic, wood, metal...
The methods for attaching them are just as numerous: perforations, clips, rivets, welding... Full functionality with absolute simplicity and no problems.
