Plakene® Zafir is translucent and ideal for folder and stationery applications, promotional articles, display stands, POS materials, packaging and communications.

Resistant to fats, weak acid aqueous solutions, bleaches, alcohols and some oils. Not resistant to strong oxidising agents. It swells when in contact with gasoline, benzene, xylene, toluene and other organic solvents, and can end up sagging slightly. Not resistant to UV radiation, as it becomes fragile. Plakene® Zafir is resistant to tearing and impact at room temperature (23º C). Its resistance is seriously altered at 0º C.

During manufacturing, both sides of Plakene® Zafir sheets are submitted to corona treatment, so that they obtain an adequate surface tension for their subsequent printing. UV offset printing has a 3-month warrantee, with a 6-month warrantee for UV screen printing. Plakene® Zafir can also be hot foil stamped. The inks used in printing must be specific for polypropylene.

Plakene® Zafir admits multiple transformation systems. It can be die-cut, hot and cold creased, stitched and riveted. Flaps and tabs can be created; it can be glued with reactive PUR adhesive and be worked with ultrasonic and hot-air welding.
